About
Eleven years of building, in industries that were not yet settled.
Biography
I started my working life inside a fairly ordinary question: why do capable businesses struggle to adopt the technology that would obviously help them? The answer, then as now, was rarely the technology itself. It was the absence of someone willing to own the messy middle — the integration, the process change, the accountability when something breaks at two in the morning.
In 2015 I stopped theorising about that gap and founded CorpCloud Global Services, an IT services company helping organisations move into custom software, managed services and cloud infrastructure. It was my first company built from nothing: client engagements to win, engineers to hire, delivery promises to keep. Nothing in my education prepared me for that as well as a single difficult quarter did.
A year later, while CorpCloud was still growing, I became convinced that distributed ledgers would change how strangers establish trust with one another. That conviction became Visionext Enterprises in 2016 — blockchain application development and consulting at a point when the industry had almost no established practice. We built smart contract solutions and decentralised applications largely from first principles, because there was very little else to copy.
Working that early surfaced an obvious unmet need: people held digital assets they could not usefully borrow against. In 2018 I founded BTC Credit, a peer-to-peer lending platform that allowed users to take loans using cryptocurrency as collateral, together with the BTCC ecosystem token. BTCC was listed on multiple exchanges and traded above USD 0.50. More importantly, it demonstrated something the sector badly needed at the time — a blockchain financial product doing genuine, boring, real-world work.
By 2022 my attention widened from digital assets to physical ones. I established Rapid Exporters for domestic trading, exports and merchant exports of agricultural and consumable commodities, building supplier and buyer networks across several markets while running procurement, logistics and documentation myself. Trade is unforgiving in a way software rarely is: a container does not care about your roadmap. That discipline improved everything I have built since. In 2023 I carried it into a short consulting engagement with Galactus Intercontinental LLC in Dubai, advising on trade strategy and Brazilian ICUMSA-45 sugar exports into African markets.
Since 2024 I have served as Principal — Blockchain Strategy at Venturist Capital, leading blockchain strategy, digital transformation and AI-driven innovation. The work is advisory but rarely abstract: tokenisation structures, Web3 product strategy, AI integration, and the unglamorous judgement of which emerging technology a company should decline for now. Alongside it I invest in and advise founders I believe in — AyuNivaa in agricultural biotechnology, Guildify Technologies in software development and technical education, and PetNow in digital veterinary care.
In 2026 I returned to research and founded HexShield Labs, an independent lab focused on blockchain security, cryptography, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. It exists because most losses in decentralised systems are not cryptographic failures; they are design and incentive errors that someone should have written down before capital was at risk. HexShield is where a decade of building finally gets documented properly.
Looked at as a list, these look like unrelated industries. Lived through, they were one continuous argument: that technology only matters once someone takes responsibility for making it work in the real economy. That is the work I intend to keep doing.
Education
Doctorate — International Business
Research on cross-border trade structures and operational risk in mid-sized export enterprises.
Postgraduate — Business Strategy & Finance
Focus on market entry, trade finance and the economics of international expansion.
Continuing Research — Distributed Systems & Applied AI
Ongoing independent research in cryptoeconomic security and evaluation of language-model systems.
Professional values
Four principles I don't negotiate.
Evidence before conviction
A claim is worth acting on once it has survived an honest attempt to disprove it. This applies equally to a research hypothesis and a growth assumption.
Reliability compounds
Dependability is slow to build and difficult to copy. In trade, in security and in software, it is the advantage that survives price competition.
Build for the operator
The person who has to live with a system daily is the real customer. Design for their edge cases, not for the demonstration.
Fewer, better commitments
Depth beats breadth. I would rather carry a small number of things properly than be adjacent to many.
Mission
To build technology companies that make complex, cross-border work dependable — and to publish what I learn so others do not have to relearn it.
Vision
A decade from now, verifiable systems and grounded AI should make trust between distant parties the default condition of commerce rather than its hardest problem.
